Liver Detoxification & Support
The liver is an organ, about the size of a football, that sits behind the ribcage on the right ride of the body that is responsible for around 500 bodily functions. The liver is essential for digesting food and ridding your body of toxic substances. The liver is divided into two lobes which sits next to the gallbladder, pancreas, and a portion of the intestines. Together, these organs support digestion, absorption and the synthesis of foods and nutrients.
One of the big functions of the liver is detoxification. During the day, our bodies encounter a range of foreign and microbial challenges. Detoxification occurs when our immune system processes these "invaders" and rids them from our body system. If a person's liver is not functioning properly, malnutrition, in addition to increased illness, can occur.
